The Transatlantic Secret Nobody Talks About

Hey there, Reader!

I got a message from a client yesterday that made me do a happy dance:

"I can't believe it's so much cheaper to take a luxury cruise back from Europe for two weeks than to fly business class!"

YES. EXACTLY.

And honestly? Most people have NO idea this is even possible.

Here's the secret:

While everyone's searching for "cheap flights to Europe," smart travelers are doing this:

✈️ Fly one-way to Europe (often cheaper than roundtrip)
🚢 Cruise back for 10-14 days in actual luxury
💰 Pay LESS than a business class roundtrip ticket

Let me break down what you actually get:

Business Class Roundtrip to Europe:

  • $4,000-$8,000 per person
  • 15-19 hours total in the air
  • Airport stress (twice or more!)
  • Jet lag (twice or more!)
  • Zero time to actually enjoy the journey

Fly One-Way + Transatlantic Cruise Home:

  • $3,500-$6,000 per person (TOTAL)
  • All meals, entertainment, and accommodation included for 10-14 days
  • Wake up in a new port city every couple days
  • No jet lag adjustment needed
  • The journey IS the vacation

My client's actual experience:

They flew into Barcelona, spent a week exploring Spain, then boarded a transatlantic cruise that stopped in Málaga, Gibraltar, and the Azores before arriving in NYC two weeks later.

Total cost? Less than their original business class flights would have been.

Plus they got: balcony cabin, all meals, shows, activities, and they "arrived" home rested instead of exhausted.

The catches (because there are always catches):

  1. Timing matters - Transatlantic cruises are seasonal (spring and fall repositioning cruises)
  2. You need flexibility - Cruises take 10-14 days, not 8 hours
  3. Book early - The best cabins on these routes go fast
  4. One-way flights can sometimes be pricier (but not always)

Who is this perfect for?

  • Couples or friends who love the journey as much as the destination
  • Anyone who wants to "try" cruising without committing to a full cruise vacation
  • Travelers with time flexibility (hello, retirees!)
  • People who hate long flights and jet lag
  • Anyone who wants to maximize their Europe trip without maxing out their budget

The bottom line:

If you're spending $5,000+ on business class flights to Europe anyway, you could literally cruise home in a balcony cabin, eat like royalty for two weeks, and arrive home LESS tired than if you'd taken that 8-hour red-eye.

That's not just a travel hack. That's smart travel.

PS:
Here are a few of my favorite things…

I just spent a week cruising the Greek Isles and it completely changed how I think about cruise vacations.

This wasn't one of those massive floating resort ships where you're one of 8,000 people fighting for a poolside chair. Nope. This ship maxed out at under 2,500 passengers, which meant we actually DOCKED at every port (no annoying tender boats!).

And get this: We hit a new port every single day. Sometimes TWO ports in one day.

The ship itself? Gorgeous. Amazing food, great cocktails, killer gym, comfortable cabins, staff that actually remembered our names. But here's what made it special - the ship wasn't trying to BE the destination. Greece was the destination.

We weren't there for waterslides and Broadway shows. We were there to experience actual Greece. The hidden vineyards. Cooking classes with local grandmas who've been making moussaka for 60 years. Smashing plates at family-owned tavernas where they don't even have a menu because they just cook what's fresh that day. Walking through ancient ruins without a thousand other tourists photobombing your pictures.

It was intimate. It was authentic. It was magic.

So here's what I'm thinking...

What if we did this as a GROUP?

I'm seriously considering putting together a group trip back to Greece - same style, same vibe, but with a crew of people who want to experience travel the way it's supposed to be experienced. Not rushed. Not touristy. Just... real.

Think: wine tasting at vineyards most tourists never find. Cooking with locals. History and culture and those "pinch me, is this real life?" moments that you can't get from a guidebook.

No commitment yet - just gauging interest.

If this sounds like YOUR kind of trip, let me know. Seriously, just reply and let's chat. I want to hear what YOU'D want from a trip like this.

If enough people are interested, we'll make it happen. And trust me, traveling with a small group of like-minded people? That's when the real magic happens.
