Your Grad is ready for something more

Hey there, Reader!

Let’s be honest: graduating high school is a big deal. After years of exams, stress, and surviving teenage drama, our seniors deserve to celebrate — but not with just another cookie-cutter beach trip to Cancun.

It’s 2025, people. Your graduate isn’t basic, so why send them on a basic trip?

At Divine Destinations, we design senior trips that actually mean something. I’m talking unforgettable, mind-expanding, confidence-building adventures that your grad will be talking about long after their cap and gown are packed away.

Here are 5 epic alternatives to your standard senior trip — each one customizable, safe, and totally wow-worthy.

1. European Highlights Tour: From Gelato to Grand Adventures

Instead of frozen margaritas and bad sunburns, how about gondola rides in Venice, selfies at the Eiffel Tower, and chocolate croissants in Paris?

A custom Europe tour hits all the iconic cities — Rome, Barcelona, Amsterdam, London — with guided activities, free time to explore, and even educational credits if you want to get fancy. Whether your grad is an art nerd, history buff, or future foodie, Europe has something that’ll light them up.

2. Safari & Service: Africa with Heart

Looking for something that will truly change their life? A graduation trip to Africa can combine wildlife safaris with cultural immersion and even volunteer work.

Think: spotting lions at sunrise, visiting local villages, and giving back in a way that makes an impact. We curate these trips carefully to be safe, authentic, and empowering for young travelers. Your grad will come home with more than Instagram content — they’ll return with perspective.

3. Costa Rica Eco-Adventure

Whitewater rafting, zip-lining through the rainforest, surfing in the Pacific — Costa Rica brings the adventure vibes without a crazy long flight.

It’s perfect for grads who want thrills, nature, and a taste of the Pura Vida life. We balance high-energy activities with time to chill at beautiful eco-lodges, making it an ideal blend for the Class of 2025.

4. Japan: Culture, Tech & Sushi Dreams

Let’s face it, some grads are just cooler than we were. If you’ve got a gamer, anime lover, or future architect on your hands, Japan is a next-level graduation trip.

From Tokyo’s neon buzz to Kyoto’s quiet temples, this trip is packed with “only in Japan” moments — bullet trains, sushi-making classes, sumo matches, and more. It’s safe, clean, and completely unforgettable.

5. The Custom Squad Trip

Want to gather a group of grads and make it extra personal? We’ll design a custom trip just for your crew — whether that means Greek island hopping, hiking in Peru, or sailing the Croatian coast.

You pick the vibe. We handle the logistics. Your grad gets the experience of a lifetime with their besties — and you get peace of mind knowing it’s all planned by a pro.

Graduation Is a Milestone. Let’s Celebrate It Right.

Forget the all-inclusive wristbands and party boats — your grad is ready for something more. Let’s give them an experience that matches how far they’ve come.

Because this isn’t just a vacation — it’s a rite of passage.

Hey, I’m Jen Maki, the mastermind behind Divine Destinations. When the 2020 COVID clown show rolled in and our governor labeled the travel industry “nonessential,” I took that as my cue to peace out. If I could work from anywhere, why not make "anywhere" THE WORLD? So, I grabbed my laptop, cell phone, and sunscreen—and never looked back. I curate epic getaways, lead small group bucket-list adventures, and prove that travel isn’t just a luxury—it’s a way of life!

PS:
Here are a few of my favorite things…

The last few weeks have been an absolute gift—my daughter Anja joined me here in paradise, and it's been a whirlwind of laughter, sunsets, and a little rain (okay, a lot of rain). Tonight, we’re hopping on a flight to South Africa for what looks like a soggy city break in Cape Town followed by a safari weekend that’s promising to bring the heat—literally.

Mauritius may be a tropical island, but let’s not forget—it’s winter. We've been chasing pockets of sunshine wherever we can find them, soaking in every golden hour we get. Even Snowy made an appearance (yes, the dog—always stealing the show). And while back-to-back torrential downpours during a week of fully-booked outdoor adventures wasn’t exactly the plan, we rolled with it. Because that’s life, isn’t it? Sometimes the skies open up—but if you’re paying attention, there’s always a rainbow trying to peek through.

Time doesn’t slow down, even when you beg it to. So I'm leaning all the way in—breathing a little deeper, savoring the now, and soaking up every moment I get with my kids before they’re off building lives of their own. Adulting comes fast. But for now, we travel. Together.
